Sherri Isaacs
Band Teacher
North, South
Hello, my name is Sherri Isaacs and I am the Band Director at both the North and South campuses. I am looking forward to the upcoming school year as I work with many of your children and teach them to play musical instruments. I hope to instill a love for music by teaching the students to use their gifts and abilities to glorify and worship our Lord and Savior! Psalm 33:3 instructs us to play musical instruments “skillfully” unto the Lord! It is my prayer that I will help your child learn to love playing their instrument in a fun, but challenging atmosphere so they can experience worshipping our Lord through music! I grew up in Tallmadge, Ohio and attended Kent State University where I received a bachelor’s degree in Instrumental Music Education and a Master’s in Performance. I have taught many places including middle school instrumental and choral music at CVCA, a homeschool band in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and elementary band and high school percussion studies at Dade Christian School in Miami, Florida. My husband, Scott, is the Fine Arts Department Head at CVCA where he also directs the Symphonic Band and Handbell choirs. My children are both graduates of Chapel Hill North. My daughter, Haley, is a pre-K teacher, and my son, Christian, is a student at Mount Vernon Nazarene University. What is Special About Band at CHCS?
  • 5th graders learn to play simple songs on band instruments 1st semester, and then progress to playing full band literature by spring time.
  • 6th graders continue to achieve technical proficiency as music becomes more difficult. They will enjoy mastering a hard piece of music together and will then present their work at the Spring Concert.
