UPDATE: Ohio Expanded Ed Choice Scholarship Program

Information for Parents

The Traditional Educational Choice Scholarship Program offers students in grades K – 12 the opportunity to attend a private school for little or no cost. Students from designated public schools qualify for these scholarships.

Today the opportunity to give your child a dedicated and rewarding Christian education is now more attainable due to recent updates to the  Expanded Ed Choice Scholarship Program, which was a part of House Bill 33, signed by Gov. DeWine on July 3, 2023. Families at higher income levels now qualify for assistance. All K-8 Ohio resident students are now eligible for:

  • A minimum of a $650 scholarship toward tuition, refer to the chart below

Starting Monday, July 17th at 8:00 am, the online application system will be available for schools to submit student Ed Choice Request Forms. We encourage New Applicants in July to submit your Ed Choice Request Form to your CHCS Office along with proof of residence. The Ohio Department of Education is in the process of updating its Scholarship Income Verification System to allow families to enter and submit their income information electronically to the Scholarship Office for verification of income status. Applications submitted on or before October 14th, 2023, will be awarded the full amount of the scholarship. Applications submitted after October 14th, 2023, will be awarded at a prorated amount based on how much of the school year remains after the date of the student’s enrollment in the private school. Parents can enter household members’ and income information and upload supporting income documents directly into the online system. Here is the download link for access to the verification portal guide when ready to submit:
