Physical Education

Our desire in Physical Education at CHCS is to teach students how to use the wonderful bodies the Lord has given them to bring Him praise. This is accomplished through various activities infused with Biblical principles and promotes physical fitness and well-being.

Early Skills Development (PK and K)

In PK and K, students engage in exercises and develop fundamental skills like jumping, balancing, hopping, catching, throwing, skipping, galloping, running, and kicking.

Tumbling and Balance Beam (1st - 3rd Grade)

Students in 1st through 3rd grade focus on tumbling and balance beam activities.

Basketball and Soccer (3rd - 6th Grade)

Grades 3 through 6 delve into units on basketball and soccer.

Softball and Volleyball (4th - 6th Grade)

For grades 4 through 6, the curriculum includes units on softball and volleyball.

Presidential Physical Fitness Testing

Students in 1st through 6th grade participate in the Presidential Physical Fitness Testing in both fall and spring, promoting physical fitness and assessment.

After-School Sports Program

  • Our after-school program includes basketball, volleyball, and soccer practice and play.
  • Students in 4th through 6th grade can form teams with volunteer coaches, with 4-9 teams per sport.
  • Each sports season lasts 10-12 weeks and concludes with a tournament.
  • The program aims to provide competition and sports skill training within a Christian atmosphere.

Intramural Sports

Students in the fourth, fifth, and sixth grades have the opportunity to play in three intramural sports.

  • Basketball in the Fall
  • Volleyball in the Winter
  • Soccer in the Spring

Students from the North Campus play against students from the South Campus in a tournament at the end of the season.
