While each of my 21 years of teaching has begun with its share of excitement, none can compare to this year. After six months of being out of the classroom, we are finally back! We are wearing masks, washing our hands frequently, and the desks are farther apart than usual, but we are back!
In the early 1900’s, John Dewey said, “Education is a social process,” and those have proven to be very wise words. It is evident in the joy that the students have to be back together, learning with their friends. Already, the sixth graders at CHCS North have blown me away with their ability to learn and adapt. They are undeterred by all of the changes and regulations, and they are happy to be back to doing what God created them to do! And I am so blessed to be able to partner with parents in the process of educating students.
As it says in 1 Timothy 4:10-11, “For our hope is in the living God, who is the Savior of all people and particularly of all believers. Teach these things and insist that everyone learn them.” What a privilege!
