I am grateful to have served as the speech-language pathologist at CHCS-S since 2005. I earned my undergraduate and graduate degrees from The University of Akron. I hold Ohio licensure, along with the nationally recognized credential, the Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-Speech) of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association. My husband Robert and I are Akron natives, and currently live near and enjoy hiking and biking the Towpath Trail. We have raised three daughters, enjoy our two sons-in-law, and are very excited to welcome our first grandchild in January 2019! Freshwater Community Church in Wadsworth is our church home. I love to grow in God's word with other ladies in the Tuesday evening class of Bible Study Fellowship, Wooster.
Each fall at CHCS-S: 1) all 5th, 3rd, and 1st graders receive a hearing screening in accordance with Ohio Department of Health guidelines; 2) all kindergarten students receive a speech, language, and hearing screening. At any time during the year, teachers who have concerns about a student's ability to communicate in the areas of speaking, listening, reading, writing, or social interaction may refer that student for observation and/or assessment. Parents who have concerns should first talk to their child's teacher.Links:
