Matthew Hickin

Hello, my name is Matt Hickin. God has created me as a man who is passionate about nature, working with my hands, art, music, coffee, and discovering His creation. I grew up with two wonderful parents and five amazing siblings. I am often known as the guy with a dog because my dog Blue is usually by my side. I attend Redemption Chapel in Stow and serve as a leader in the youth ministry.

It was through working with students at church and in sports, combined with my love for math and science, I decided to become a teacher. I graduated from the University of Akron with a degree in middle level math and science education. I love math and science in the way they show the creativity and order of creation. I had the honor of joining the CHCS family last year teaching 6th grade and am so excited to teach 4th grade this year! I hope to help fascinate your student with the sciences and encourage them in their relationship with Jesus. Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns.
