Corrine Mack
Technology Teacher
North

Hello, my name is Corrine Mack, and I have the pleasure and blessing of being the Chapel Hill Christian School Technology Teacher at North Campus. I am so excited about the $15,000 EIG grant I received from the GAR Foundation. I will be creating a Coding into Problem Solving curriculum for grades K-6. I cannot wait to coach our students as they learn how to solve problems using coding and robotics.

I attend St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Cuyahoga Falls and enjoy studying Scripture to know God better to be able to apply His teachings to my life. I am so thankful and grateful for the gift of faith and for God leading me to Chapel Hill Christian School!

I grew up in Kent, Ohio and have always enjoyed playing sports and being outside. I enjoy kayaking with my family and participating in the Metro Parks Fall Hiking Spree. I received my Bachelor's in Education for grades 4-9 from Ashland University with concentrations in Mathematics and Language Arts. I also hold an endorsement in reading. In 2007, I received my Masters of Arts in Mathematics at John Carroll University with a focus on Middle Grades Mathematics. I just finished my eighth year of teaching. Besides teaching math and technology, I have also worked at the collegiate level. I taught Math 1 at Virginia Marti College of Art and Design and was a University Supervising for Student Teachers at Kent State University. I enjoy encouraging and cheering on both children and adults as they learn and grow. “Imperfect Progress” is my expectation when using our God-given gifts.

This year, our North students, will be solving problems using robotics as a technology tool. By courtesy of the GAR Foundation and a private family donation, our students will have the opportunity to learn using Bee-Bots, Ozobots, Dash, Dot, Sphero and Lego WeDo 2.0. I am so excited for this year; it is hard to put into words. Please watch for information on our Coding into Critical Thinking Night this winter. You will have another opportunity to see how amazing God made your children! God is so good and this grant and donation has been such an amazing blessing! All the Glory to God this year; I pray that He will use me to help our students know Him better, grow in their relationship with Him, increase their social development and increase their knowledge in Computer Science.
