One new feature --- CASH and CARRY cards

We are excited to continue the Cash and Carry feature of the SMART CARD program.  Grocery and gas gift cards to popular local vendors are kept on hand in the school office of the Green campus and the Business Office located at the North campus. They are available for your immediate purchase when you need them during office hours. A record of your monthly Cash and Carry purchases is kept and tuition credits are applied in the same manner as online orders. $25, $50, $100 and $500 denominations are available for purchase.

CHCS withholds 7% of the rebate earned for administrative expenses. The tuition credits are determined at the end of every month and applied to the following tuition payment. (Please note that changes to your tuition payment through the FACTS program has a one week processing time.).

Questions call the Advancement Office at 330-929-1901, ext 21. We look forward to watching this program grow and seeing your tuition reduced.

FAQs

Why are there different percentages of rebate for each vendor?

Each retailer offers a percentage discount to its gift cards.  Discount stores typically have smaller discounts available than restaurants and department and mail order catalog stores. All retailers and associated rebates are listed when you login to your account.

What amount of tuition reduction can I expect?

This is dependent on your use of the program. Just purchasing gas and groceries for a family of four, expect approximately $200-250 of tuition credit for the school year.  For families who have many people and/or businesses purchasing from them, they can expect as high as $1000 or more tuition reduction.

What is the advantage of having all ordering online only?

Online ordering permits us to import your order into the group order and the software calculates rebates and allows access to other reports.  Paper order forms can be entered by us but that increases time and cost to run the program. The families of CHCS are able to earn approximately twice the rebate than with a traditional paper ordering system due to the automation.

What if I pre-pay tuition and do not have monthly payments?

Your credits are tracked and applied to the next time a tuition payment is made.

Why are there only a few types of gift cards available for Cash and Carry?

The main purpose of Cash and Carry is to provide convenience and flexibility. The Cash and Carry grocery stores carry many gift cards as well. When a major appliance goes out and you don't have time to wait until the next order is placed, you may purchase Cash and Carry cards to a grocery store and purchase the ones you need there.

Are gift cards treated like cash at most vendors?

Yes. Gift cards purchased through this mechanism are available to earn fuel perks when used to make a purchase at a store offering such a program and in some cases are accepted as payment to pay on credit accounts. Please check with the specific vendor before purchasing gift cards for these purposes.

Do I have to pick up in person?

Picking up in person is the preferred method since gift cards are like cash.  A signature is required that you have received your order and that it is correct. Sending home gift cards with students is permitted but the same requirements apply.  Gift cards cannot be replaced.
