My name is Megan Ferda and I am thrilled to be teaching prekindergarten this year at Chapel Hill Christian School. My family became involved in Chapel Hill Christian School in 2006 when our oldest son began kindergarten. My husband, Steve, and I have 3 boys -- Nick, Ben, and Joshua – who all attend CHCS. Our family has been truly blessed by our involvement with the school.

I received my Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education from Kent State University in 1996. I recently completed my endorsement to teach Gifted Education, also from Kent State University. I taught third grade and first grade before taking time away from the classroom to start our family. Five years ago, I began teaching prekindergarten part time at a local preschool. I am certain God has now led me to serve Him here at CHCS.

I am very exciting to be working with prekindergarten students. This is a wonderful age where students are learning about their place in the world. They are a joy to teach because they are so open to the word of God and are so caring toward one another. It is my prayer to help plant the seeds of faith in my students and to instill in them a love of learning that will be a strong foundation for their school years.

Boys and girls at four and five enjoy learning new things about the world that God has created. They make new friends, gain self-control and independence, and continue to learn to be responsible for their actions. It is my joy to watch them begin to understand how letters and sounds make words, use language, and learn that God loves each of them.
