Mr. Logan Shellenberger
Grade: 6th Grade
My name is Logan Shellenberger. I began teaching at CHCS in 2004, and I love teaching the 6th grade. The students are old enough to understand some fairly complex issues (evolution/creation, exponents or the holocaust), they ask great questions, but they don't (yet) think they know everything. This year the students will learn responsibility and organization as they prepare to leave Chapel Hill and move on to junior high and high school.
I was born in Scottsbluff, Nebraska and raised in Stow, Ohio. I graduated from both Chapel Hill and CVCA (1987). I earned a BA in International Ministries from Moody Bible Institute in 1990 and I stayed in Chicago and earned a MA in Linguistics with a Minor in Teaching English as a second Language from North Eastern Illinois University. My wife and I have four children. We had the privilege of serving in China for seven years where we were involved in language study, teaching English at a medical college and assisting our team members in development work with Muslim and Tibetan villages. ![]() Click To Enlarge |

What's Special About This Grade?
The 6th graders are the seniors of the school. This brings both responsibilities and privileges. The students have opportunities to help the Pre-K classes everyday. They also are challenged to grow spiritually as they learn about their roles in life and God's Kingdom. There is a special emphasis this year on world view. By the end of the 6th grade the students will be able to articulate and defend their faith and have a better understanding for a Christian's place and responsibilities in their community, the country, and the world.
