Mrs. Laura Wilson

Grade: Pre-K
Email: Mrs. Laura Wilson

My name is Laura Wilson. My family and I have truly been blessed in a myriad of ways by our association with Chapel Hill Christian Schools. My two youngest children are CHCS graduates, as is my husband, John. John's mother, Nancy, was a pre-kindergarten teacher when Chapel Hill was in its infancy. The schools have a wonderful ministry, which our entire family believes in with all our hearts. I have served the schools in a couple of different roles. First I worked as a kindergarten aide at the North Campus from 2003 to 2006, and then I was a pre-kindergarten teacher at the Green Campus from 2006 to 2009.
In addition, I serve with my husband as the pastoral couple at Tallmadge Alliance Fellowship, where I maintain an active role with our ladies ministry. Our two youngest children (John and Emma) are now students at Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy. Our oldest (Krista, married to Christopher Thomas) is studying music at Moody Bible Institute in Chicago, Illinois. My Bachelor's degree was earned at the University of Akron in Fine and Applied Arts. I've been so thankful for the number of ways it has helped me be creative through teaching both in the church and school environments.
As a teacher I am so blessed by how our young students experience the wonder of learning. I myself love to learn and indeed learn much from each of the children as they individually and uniquely grow through this year of pre-kindergarten. My priority is to encourage them to know, and thus, love Jesus Christ more, and to instill in them a true love for learning of all kinds. The environment at Chapel Hill Christian Schools creates an opportunity for these priorities to be extended to children in an atmosphere of true Christian joy! I am truly grateful to serve the Lord through these schools!

What's Special About This Grade?

Boys and girls at four and five enjoy learning new things about the world that God has created. They make new friends, gain self-control and independence, and continue to learn to be responsible for their actions. It is my joy to watch them begin to understand how letters and sounds make words, use language, and learn that God loves each of them.
