Mrs. Courtney Ucker
Grade: Computers / Technology
I am thrilled to teach at CHCS. It is amazing how God leads us exactly where we should be. More importantly, when we listen and follow through, God leads us exactly where He wants us to be. I am confident He has led me to CHCS. I look forward to serving Him and serving you! In 2005 I graduated from Cedarville with a B.A in Early Childhood Ed and minor in Bible. Three weeks later I married my high school sweetheart Andrew. He happens to be a CHCS Green campus grad. A few months after out wedding I began teaching Kindergarten and loved every minute of it. However, in 2011, when my daughter Avery Jane was born, I thought I was going to set the classroom aside for awhile. God had other plans and led me to my current position teaching technology. I enjoy the challenge of a new position and love working with so many kids! The position also allots me the time to work on other projects for the school.

What Exactly Do You Do in Computer Class?
Two days a week I work with PreK-3rd grade students. We use Mac computers and Smartboards to learn about technology and optimize classroom lessons..
All students work on basic computer skills such as typing and locating parts of the computer. Office programs are introduced. Older students learn how to type papers and create presentations. We also use educational websites to emphasize what is being taught in the classroom. Because the education world is quickly becoming technology-based, my ultimate goal is to get the kids comfortable with it so that they have multiple resources for learning...and having fun of course!
