My name is Carlene Marchand and I have taught at Chapel Hill Christian School since 2005. I grew up in the Akron area and graduated from C.V.C.A. in 1991. I then attended Taylor University for 2 years, before transferring home and graduating from the University of Akron in 1995 a with Bachelors degree in Physical Education (K-12). The summer of 1996 I took an internship at the Chapel in Akron and began working on my M.A.R.-Masters of Art and Religion which I completed in 1999. In 1997 I was married and in 1999 and 2000 our two children were born. Throughout the years, I have stayed active in sports whether through coaching (Volleyball at CVCA for 7 yrs), playing, officiating, or being a fan with my children.

What a blessing to be able to use my training in PE and in Bible as a Physical Education teacher. My desire is to let the students know that God's Word isn't just for church, but can be applied to everyday life- even P.E. class. My husband and I are thrilled that now both our children attend CHCS. We all fail in doing what is right sometimes. But there isn't a better place for the children to stumble, learn, and experience the power of God's grace than here at CHCS. I feel it is our calling to share with others what God has given us. CHCS is a blessing and should be shared with all.
