Mrs. Ann Montgomery

Grade: Pre-K
Email: Mrs. Ann Montgomery

My name is Ann Montgomery. I was introduced to the ministry of Chapel Hill in the fall of 2004 when our son began kindergarten. At this time, I served as an aide in second grade for two years and this past year brought me to kindergarten as an aide. These unique opportunities have given me invaluable insight into the needs of the Pre-K students as they prepare for kindergarten.
I graduated from Malone College with a double major in accounting and business in 1983. I also met my husband, Troy, at Malone and we have been married for 23 years. Raising our children, Megan (21), Mackenzie (18) and Brooks (9) continues to be one of the greatest joys of my life. I have developed a deep love of teaching through homeschooling our girls and teaching opportunities within our church.
Your children are a gift and I look forward to our time together. I take seriously the trust you place in me as their teacher. My prayer for each child is that they may develop a love of learning as they enjoy this important year of school.
Boys and girls at four and five enjoy learning new things about their world. They make new friends, gain self-control and independence, and begin to learn to be responsible. It is my joy to watch them begin to understand how letters and sounds make words, use language, and learn that God loves each of them.

What's Special About This Grade?

Four and five year olds have a unique ability to enjoy the world that God has created. They are open to new adventures and look forward to time with their friends as they continue to learn the life lessons of sharing, self-control and being a friend. Our room is one where the children are encouraged to be active learners as we grow together. Throughout Pre-K we will enjoy stories, songs, crafts, and play time that prepare the children for kindergarten and teach them that God loves them.
